Dear Judges,

Happy Year of the Rooster!  This year marks the 25th Anniversary of Kung Fu Tai Chi magazine and we’re celebrating by expanding the Tiger Claw Elite Championship & KUNG FU TAI CHI DAY into a three-day event – the Kung Fu Tai Chi 25th Anniversary Festival!  We hope you can support us in what will surely be one for the history books.  Here are the TCJU dates for Spring of 2017:

May 19-21: Kung Fu Tai Chi 25th Anniversary Festival
San Jose Convention Center’s South Hall
Our format for the Tiger Claw Elite Championship will be mostly the same as last year, however we are adding a theatrical performance on Friday, Grandmasters LIVE! at San Jose’s opulent California Theater, and on Saturday, a banquet at Dynasty Chinese Seafood Restaurant in Cupertino.  Both the performance and banquet require separate tickets, so if you wish to attend, visit for more information.

Tiger Claw Judges’ Union Meeting
Tiger Claw Headquarters, Fremont
We are holding three preparatory meetings to review rules and update you on changes.  You need only attend one of these meetings.  Lunch will be provided.

April 16, 2017: This meeting is for Mandarin-speaking Internal Judges only. Contact Gigi Oh for details (510-656-5100 X141

April 30, 2017: 10AM-1PM

May 4, 2017: 11AM-2PM

March 25-26: 25th Annual Chinese Martial Art Tournament
U.C. Berkeley
We’re not the only ones celebrating our 25th this year! The TCJU will provide a special perk for any TCJU members judging at CMAT with the cooperation of CMAT Tournament Chair and TCJU Organizing Committee member, Sifu Bryant Fong.  Be sure to stop by the Tiger Claw Booth at Berkeley CMAT to pick it up.  If you know anyone that would like to join the TCJU, we’ll have membership forms at the Tiger Claw booth.  We’ll offer the perk to new members too.

Please sign up for any of these of events except Berkeley CMAT with TCJU coordinator Chris Lewin at (510-668-1100).  Also please visit to see if your photo has been posted.  If it has not, please email a photo to Chris and we’ll get that added as soon as possible.

We hope to see you at the next TCJU event, if not sooner!
